US equities in retreat Monday
FXstreet.com (New York) - The US stock market started off the trading week on a negative note, turning lower across the board in the absence of any notable stimuli or indicators out of the United States.
Beginning with the indices and composites, today the NASDAQ fell -0.39% as it settles in region of 3646.16, down -14.22 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in positive territory, operating at 1683.66, descending -7.26 points or -0.46% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved lower at the opening, trading in the zone of 15368.53, presently -0.37% after a movement of -56.98 points.
Sectors are all lower at the opening, however the Financials and Healthcare sectors have distinguished themselves as the losers thus far, falling -0.40% and -0.55% respectively. Moreover, the price of gold has settled at $1340.48 per oz., while silver is now negotiating a spot price of $21.24 per oz. Monday.
