Wall Street closed Friday with gains; Dow reconquered the 15,000 level
FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - The US stocks market traded higher on Friday as major indexes bounced from yesterday's losses. The Dow Jones recovered the 15,000 level and the S&P turned back all Thursday's loses.
No news from Washington in the fourth day of US government shutdown. However, many investors preferred to close their positions before the weekend avoiding any jump on talks.
The Dow Jones advanced 76.10 points or 0.51% to finish the day at 15,072.58. The DJIA performed 1.67% negative on the week; the S&P 500 won 11.84 points or 0.71% to close the session at 1,690.50. The S&P finished the week with 0.48% losses. The Nasdaq added 33.41 points or 0.89% to end the week at 3,807.75. The composite declined 0.27% on the weekly basis.
